With bulging biceps and a sculpted six-pack, Zee Sayegh aka 'Shredded Diesel' might just be the manliest man alive.


But the celeb trainer, who has worked with stars including Madonna, Nicole Scherzinger, Leonardo Di Caprio and P Diddy, never spends longer than an hour at the gym.


The hard-as-nails bodybuilding champion controversially says the key to a healthy body is to "eat sugar, lift weights, train for less than an hour and leave your ego at the gym".


Here, the 31-year-old reveals his secrets to the ultimate muscular physique. Zee, who hails from Kuwait, said: "There are so many opinions out there that people get confused and it affects their training in the long run.


"My philosophy is simple: eat 1.5g of protein per pound of body weight daily (even on the days you do not train), train hard, lift heavy weights, use proper form and leave the ego at the gym, lift a weight which is comfortable for you and stay motivated."

The A-list favourite has been training since the age of 17 and has won a number of bodybuilding competitions throughout the world.


He has also appeared on The Active Channel and a number of TV stations back in his home country Kuwait.

He has been using the same philosophy for years – and it's worked wonders for his clients as well as himself.

He said: "When I first started training my celebrity clients they were shocked to discover that it only takes the body to respond effectively when you spend less time at the gym but put in more.


"Recovery is essential for the body to grow and without feeding your muscles with the correct nutrients then your time at the gym will be wasted.


"I have seen people train for up to two hours in the gym everyday and think to myself: 'why?'.


"Your muscles tire after an while so the key is to pump as much volume and blood into them for optimum growth."】

Zee says he spends no longer then one hour per session training and once he's done, he says it’s "time to feed the muscles".


Following his training session, Zee opts for some simple carbs such as a bag of jelly beans, two bottles of a glucose drink and a banana – with an LA Whey protein shake after his session.


He said: "People are afraid to eat sugar but the optimum time to have them is right after a workout.


"This is because your body needs glycogen and carbs are the best way to replenish your glycogen storage.

"My clients are reluctant to take this and are shocked by my suggestion but once they have it they can see and feel the difference as it helps them with their recovery immensely.


"Mix in there a couple of scoops of whey protein and your body will be well on the way to growth."

The ripped fitness fanatic then has a meal as soon as he gets home, which includes a mixture of protein, carbs and healthy fats.


"Around an hour after my post workout meal I eat again," he said. "Your body responds to food very well at this time and helps you recover from your workouts."


Zee also drinks over six litres of water a day and take supplements from LA Muscle, including Norateen Extreme, Vasculator, 311 BCAAs and LA Whey Gold.


"I find that supplements have a role in the muscle building process and without them I don’t think my body would have been this big, which has helped build my portfolio of clients," he said.


And his golden piece of advice for anyone looking to build muscles is to "have short-term goals, tick them off and then aim to reach for your long term goals".


"Always believe in what you can achieve and you will be successful," he added.
